  • Do you do background checks?

    Yes, we perform various checks including reference checks, Ministry Of Justice checks and we also drug test. 

  • Do you offer full time work?

    We have a number of different service models available including labour hire, permanent recruitment, temporary or ongoing casual employment. 

  • How much do your services cost if I’m a candidate?

    Our services are entirely free for candidates. We will never ask you for payment in person or through email. If you believe you were contacted asking for this information, please let us know. 

  • Should I tell TRC if I’ve found a job elsewhere?

    If you’ve found a job somewhere else, that’s ok. Please let us know - you can call, email or visit the recruiter you’ve been working with so they know to stop looking on your behalf. 

  • What are the minimum requirements to work with you?

    The minimum requirements to work with The Recruitment company include passing a drug test, providing a resume, being at least 18 years old, having a mobile phone, reliable transport and if you’re not a New Zealand resident, a valid work visa. 

  • What happens if I’m dissatisfied with the job I’m placed in?

    If you’re not happy in the role you have been placed in, please talk to the team at The Recruitment Company and they’ll work with you to place you somewhere else as soon as they can. 

  • What happens when my assignment ends with the client that I have been placed with?

    If your assignment with the client ends, we’ll try and place you into another assignment as soon as we can. 

  • What if I don’t have a resume?

    If you don’t have a resume, you can still register with us and you’ll have the opportunity to fill in the last three positions you’ve held when you come in to see us. You can create a resume using online templates such as Microsoft Word and many online sites. 

  • What if I’m new to the workforce and have no skills?

    Showing up for work and having a great attitude are also skills. Other skills can be taught if you have these two.

  • When I get placed by TRC, who is my employer?

    When you’re employed by The Recruitment Company, we’ll be your employer. During this period, TRC will be looking after your wages, Kiwisaver contributions and your Health and Safety in the workplace. 

  • Who do I report to once I have been placed with one of your clients?

    When you’re placed with one of our clients, you’ll report to the supervisor who is looking after you at the client site. Everything to do with your job there goes through them. Anything else is reported to TRC. This includes wage queries and all other matters. We will work with the client on your behalf. 

  • What kind of jobs are available?

    All kinds of roles are available. We work across sectors such as civil and construction, manufacturing, logistics, food production, horticulture and landscaping as well as technical and professional. We look at the skills of the candidates and then help them find work that suits them.
